SI2’s business focus is in the Government market, particularly providing advanced systems to the warfighter and thereby maintaining the country’s superiority on the ever changing battlefield.

To best service this market, SI2 is developing a number of products for the Department of Defense. As the product design and manufacturing process mature, each product may be acquired as designed or may be customized to meet the requirements of a specific application.

SI2’s products integrate electronics conformally with the structure and packaging without being constrained by the structure’s shape. Hence “We make things smart™” by adding electronic functionality to otherwise “dumb” structures. The result is an electronic system which consumes significantly less, space, weight and power. We accomplish this through a proprietary technological approach known as System Integrated Design and Manufacturing (SIDM). SIDM replaces conventional design and manufacturing techniques with state-of-the-art design and manufacturing tools.

Services

The unique skill set and resources required to develop our products has enabled SI2 to also offer its talent and capabilities in the form of several services in areas such as antenna and RF systems, signal processing, digital and analog cicuit design, satellite electronics and sonar/acoustic systems. Some of our engineering services include:

• Electronic system design including: Concept development, specification development, etc.
• Design review support including: Preliminary design reviews (PDR), critical design review (CDR), design for manufacturing.
• Conversion of conventional designs for flexible and conformal manufacture.
• Trade analysis to select most cost and performance effective design and manufacturing approach for a particular application.
• Prototype and production manufacturing using both in-house and external capabilities.
• Rapid response engineering services.

We can offer these services in a number of forms varying from a consultant type relationship to a complete product development teaming arrangement. As a small business, SI2 has access to a number of unique contracting opportunities with the Government, such as the Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program, which may be used to help offset the developmental cost of new systems.
